Every child in the school belongs to one of our four clan groups. Brothers and sisters are placed in the same clan, helping to build a strong sense of family, identity and teamwork across all stages.
Our clans are:
- Etive
- Lorn
- Linnhe
- Kerrerra
The clan system encourages leadership, responsibility and collaboration. It provides meaningful opportunities for pupils of all ages to contribute to school improvement and community life.
Since January 2018, the clans have taken on key roles including Pupil Council, Eco Committee leadership, and local and global community improvement projects. Through this work, pupils have:
- Enhanced the appearance and use of the playground and woodland areas
- Increased and improved playground resources
- Reduced plastic waste
- Strengthened recycling systems
- Raised funds for local charities and global causes
This approach ensures that pupil voice leads to visible, positive change.
Clan Missions
In January 2019, we refined our work into four clear “Missions.” These missions provide focus, purpose and progression, while ensuring every clan contributes to improving our school and wider community.
Grounds Mission
Improving and developing our school environment
- Leading the Pupil Council
- Planning and delivering school grounds improvements (including areas up to the woodland edge)
This mission empowers pupils to shape their physical environment and take pride in their school grounds.
Eco Mission
Promoting sustainability and responsible citizenship
- Eco Schools programme
- Litter reduction initiatives
- Waste minimisation and recycling
- Energy conservation
- Sustainable transport awareness
- Health and wellbeing
- Food and environmental responsibility
Through the Eco Mission, pupils develop knowledge, skills and values that support lifelong environmental stewardship.
Local Mission
Strengthening our Dunbeg community
- Beach cleans and litter picks
- Supporting local charities and community initiatives
- Woodland area development
- Biodiversity projects
This mission builds strong community links and helps pupils understand the importance of local action.
Global Mission
Developing global citizenship
- Fairtrade awareness and promotion
- Links with schools around the world
- Sponsorship of enterprise and global development projects
Through this mission, pupils learn about equality, fairness and their role within an interconnected world.
